1981: From Versailles to the World

For all the Versailles lovers, who cried when it went out of production in 1980, and it was for all you Lincolnd ownders who got yours.  In preparation for the 1982 model year, Lincoln-Mercury readied the new Lincoln Continental, noted as quite possibly the best looking version of the marque since the early 1970s.

Its major function as a head-to-head competitor for the Imperial and the Seville, and its $20,000 sticker cemented their relationship.But the smaller, lighter and more efficient Lincoln had a 600-pound and one-foot advantage ofer the other two.

    Interesting.. I recall this Continental. I remember it was face lifted and then we got the one from 1988. They it changed two more times and now in 2017, it is back better than ever.
