1981 Renault LeCar Commercial
The alliance between American Motors and Renault was to lead to eventual assembly of the French import in the U.S. The French-built R-5, LeCar, was a distinctly styled 2-door hatchback with front wheel drive. To say that its styling was distinct really means there was no mistaking the cars identity. Like the VW Beetle, thousands learned to love LeCar, and American Motors hoped the French love affair with it would spread stateside.
