1982 Ford Escort Commercial
With the emphasis on finishing what was started in 1981, Ford added a 5-door hatchback version of the Escort front drive economy car in L, GL, and GLX trim levels (no base or SS 5-door). Al Escorts benefited from running change improvements like larger P165 radial tires, low restriction 2-inch exhaust system, wide open throttle A/C cutout switch, longer front seat travel, and revised cargo area trim. Gearing was improved for increased performance, Dash layouts, consoles, wheel dress, and glove boxes were improved for 1982, and there was an optional 11.3 gallon fuel tank.
