1983 Ford Mustang Manufacturer Promo

For 1983 Mustang returned as a 2-door coupe, 3-door hatch, and convertible. Model lines were L, GL, GLX, and GT, with convertible in GLX only. Improved 2.3 liter four was the base engine, now with 1-bbl carburetor, and more torque. Available was the Essex V6 engine, in combination only with the automatic overdrive, available for the first time in Mustang The 3.3 liter six and 4.2liter V8 were dropped. The higher hp 5-liter HO engine with a 4-bbl carburetor was mated to the 5-speed manual transmission. A new front end gaining 2.5% aero numbers. GT V8 suspension improved for more neutral handling.
