1984 Chevrolet Bus Chassis Promo

Seeing Buses, all kinds of buses, reminds me of an Internet meme, stemming from a movie before Internet memes were popular. In 1984, before the movie, and before the Internet, Chevrolet was in the Bus Business. And Chevrolet wanted its sales force to get in the Bus business, and make more money. From the dated looking (even for 1984) B60 that could seat up to 72 mullet havin’, jean jacket wearin’ students, to the P30 forward control van, that in this promo appeared to be loading a prison van with retirement home residence (you make your own conclusions), all the way down to the G30, the most ‘compressed’ bus to wear the Chevy badge, which has it’s own cultural implication associated to it, based on ones intelligence, or lack there of, Chevrolet had a bus for any application. Everywhere you look, you see buses. All kinds of buses, so get ready to sell a bus today!

These were the most popular buses of the 80’s and early 90’s. I don’t know how International stole this market from GM. These days Freightliner has become a popular bus chassis.

I thought the bus body companies bought the chassis directly from the maker, not from individual dealers.
