1984 Chevrolet Commercials – Sarah Purcell

In early April 1984, General Motors bought a full sponsorship of the mini-series “George Washington” that aired on ABC, spread out over four days.

Here is a collection of the Chevrolet branded spots, featuring TV personality Sarah Purcell.  In the first spot, you see what is perhaps the fist time the “You’ve never seen, anything like this before” advertisement was seen on TV.

    Ken Howard(White Shadow CBS) and Sarah Purcell (Real People NBC) are the spokespeople in this classic group of commercials from 1984 which are one of my favorite set of Chevy Commercials-thanks for posting

  2. Richard Dick says:

    The network was actually CBS- from April 8-11, 1984 I believe

    When I first saw these I started riffing on them in my head;

    “A winner, that’s the reason why Cavalier outsells the top three leading imports.”

    “No, that would be the Voluntary Restraint Agreement.”

    “Oh, is that why Chevrolet says if you can *find* a better car, buy it?”

    “That’s Chrysler, but basically yeah.”
