1984 brought the turbocharged and injected 1.6 liter from the EXP. Meanwhile, the Escort family also received a new 2.0 diesel, plus high mileage Fuel Saver (FS) packages (engine calibration, gearing, and limited options) on both the diesel and standard 1.6 gas engine.
