1986 Nissan Stanza Wagon Test Drive

Small boxes on wheels are nothing new. We have been peddled these melted butter sticks far before the craze for XB’s, Cubes, Souls and others became the rage. Many praise the Chrysler corporation for establishing the minivan category, when in reality the Volkswagen Micro bus was around far longer, along with other small utility type vans.

Arguably, the Stanza wagon (known in Japan as the Prairie) was presumably designed to take on the Caravan/Voyager twins, despite Nissans already offering of their rear drive under floor engined cargo based van. One thing that cant be disputed is the functionality and pure cargo carrying capability the one and two box designs posses, perhaps the reason for their long term success.

This car might be the worst of every car in 1986 I hate the styling and interio and it looks very ugly inside of the car.

  2. Andrew Nelson says:

I think this is the ugliest Nissan I’ve seen.

  3. Paul says:

Haha I had forgotten about these bad boys! The Access that followed was more attractive, but I recall them having garbage motors, and I think most were bought back.
