Pontiac, probably the most dynamic and forward thinking of GM’s divisions, was on a roll since the introduction of the FIero and 6000 STE. For 1986, most of the changes were cosmetic, although major developments were due mid-year.
The 1986 Pontiac 6000 showed what could be done with the GM A-body platform. With 195/70/14’s on Eagle GT tires, and Electronic Ride Control, it was one of the best handling lines in America. There was no tail wagging at highway speeds and no washing out in turns.The 140hp 2.8 lither V6 provided satisfying performance. Leather steering wheel and bucket seats made it a real sporty sedan.
