Optional 2.8 liter V-6, previously carbureted, received multi port fuel injection, and now produced 125hp and 160 lb-ft of torque. Valve covers were die cast aluminum, and new cylinder heads were aluminum, too, to reduce weight. Thanks to fast burn combustion chambers, compression ratio was up to 8.9:1. Revised motor was mated to a 3 or 4 speed overdrive automatic transmission. 2.5 liter L4 engine was standard, and 3.8 liter V6 giving 150hp was still another option. Custom series available as coupe sedan, or wagon, with coupe and sedan in Limited series, minor interior refinements, revised brake vacuum booster calibrations, and more compact master cylinder. Exterior Sport Package available on sedans, Gran Sport was discontinued.
