The future was then, and a bit off. Looking at some of the photos in this video, you see that according to supposed cost of replacement of Mercury’s front light bar, they considered replacing it with a conventional style grille. Lets all thank them for not pushing forward with that change. Also presented was a revamped Merkur XR4TI with a hood scoop reminiscent of past mustangs. Reports also ran rampant that a new corvette was possible in the 89-90 time frame, which obviously was far off. But looking at what obviously was a C4 with an ‘Indy’ Corvette body sculpting, would have been an interesting evolution.
