1987 Merkur Scorpio Test Drive

This deluxe sedan was unveiled in Europe in March 1985 and reached North America 2- years later, having undergone very few changes since that time. It was made in Cologne, West German. Along with the Merkur XR4Ti, the Scorpio is the only Ford vehicle that truly rivaled deluxe imports like Audi, Saab and Acura. With an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.34 this 5-door sedan had very distinctive lines. The Touring version was exceptionally equipped, including a full leather interior and an electric sliding top. Assembly quality, choice of materials and meticulous finish were without fault and created a vehicle of deluxe discretion and good taste! This car was unjustly ignored.

The 4ti is the one to have IMO…. The Scorpio blew by comparison IMO

both relatively problematic from what I remember

Except the XR4Ti was a SUPER strong uni-body and LOVED lots of HP. Check out what they did with the Euro versions… 500+ HP 4 bangers back in the day was A LOT! RWD was a plus too.

The euro version Ford Scorpio was better, but this was still a great car (maybe not so much mechanically) very underestimated. Is it possible for you to upload a test drive of a 2003 Land Rover Range Rover?
