1989 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Test Drive

Arguably when GM released its new for 87 full size pickups, they were often touted as being on the softer side, for a truck! Luckily they left the Suburban and Blazer alone, at least until the 1992 model year. Trying to keep the family look cohesive, the Blazer received a revised grille that strongly emulated the newer versions of the Chevy’s big trucks. Competing with Fords Bronco and Dodge’s Ramcharger, these large utility vehicles really were the last of the original SUV crowd, being replaced by much smaller nimbler off-roaders.
