1990 Toyota Previa Test Drive

Not following the ‘me too’ route that often describes new nameplates in an already established segment is not rare, but succeeding is. Being unique in a class of boxy two box designs brought along with it uncommon features that showcased their individuality. Including a sideways mounted engine, interesting implementation of the third row seats, twin sunroofs, and an actually attractive interior. However not unique to the Previa, was its slow acceleration, and soft handling, as seen as it navigates the pylons. Either way, it was a monumental evolution of the ‘VAN’ it replaced.

I remember when the Toyota Previa was on the US market. I thought it was better looking than anything the Big Three was offering at the time. :)
