1991 Saturn SL2 Preview & Test Drive

After eight years and $8 billion in start-up costs, GM’s vaunted new Saturn sub-compacts debuted for1991 in four four-cylinder models: twincam SC coupe and SL2 sedan, and single-cam SL and SL1 sedans. Interest was high with prices as low as $7995, but a deliberate “go-slow” policy held total production to 48,629 for the model year.

    I had a 95 SL2 5 speed and would get between 34-36 MPG and that’s with 128000 miles and it drinking oil between oil changes.
