1992 Isuzu Trooper Commercial – William Fichtner

Knowing that even Mercedes made a dash for the gap in deluxe all-terrain vehicles, you understand why Isuzu changed the orientation of the Trooper. Leaving to the Rodeo the dust of the bad roads, the Trooper could then be for the lawn of attractive neighborhoods. When viewing the last issue of the Isuzu Trooper, it is hard to recognize the vehicle which had such an enormous success when it first arrived on North American soil. While the first sported an almost military look, this version is more like a fashionable parlor. Te change of direction was accompanied by the inevitable change in price which immediately eliminated the first enthusiasts. The Trooper retained the form of a 5-door 4-wheel drive station wagon with standard automatic transmission and an optional manual gear box. The only available engine was a 3.2 v-6, developing 175hp in the base model S, and 190 hp in the more luxurious LS.
