1992 Mercury Grand Marquis Test Drive
The Mercury Grand Marquis was redesigned for a spring 1991 introduction, as an early 1992 model. The Station wagon disappeared from the line, leaving 4-door sedan as the sole option.
While it retained a rear-drive, body on frame platform used since 1979, suspension was extensively modified with mostly new hardware, altered geometry, gas charged shock absorbers, and a newly standard rear stabilizer bar. More obvious was the new “aero” styling and outer body panels.
