1993 Dodge Intrepid ES Test Drive

Developed to replace the Boxy Euro based Renault sourced Dodge Monaco, Eagle Premier twins, the styling, not unlike Chrysler’s Concord, the 1993 Dodge Intrepid used the company’s new full size “LH” platform and boasted similarly sleek “cab forward” swoopy sedan styling. But it came with fewer standard frills and lower prices that began near $16,000 for a base model. A sportier, uplevel ES started at $17,289. Larger tires on allow wheels marked the Intrepid ES, which also came with all disc brakes. Anti lock brakes were optional on both base and ES models. Power was your choice of 3.3 ohv, or 3.5 twincam v-6, each pulling with a four-speed automatic. Dodge sold a healthy 81,000 Intrepids for the model year.
