Setting out after the Honda Accord, and Prelude, the 626 and MX6 were well on their way to improving their position. Unlike the previous models, they have been created specifically for he North-American market. Manufactured with the Ford Probe, they shared the same mechanical elements. The renewal of these two models gave Mazda an opportunity to make a strong comeback in the compact market with and in the sport coupe market. In addition, their powerful engine enhanced their personality and driving pleasure.
