1994 Hyundai Elantra Test Drive
Well endowed from the body point of view, Elantra moved up in the world since being equipped with the Alpha engine, better suited to its size. For 1994 safety aspects got priority in order to offer an appealing product for the price.
Elantra accounted for more that 30% of the North American sales of the Korean automaker by the mid-90s. It was a small, popular and affordable compact. The three box, four door sedan offered in GL and GLS. The basic mechanical elements of the GL were a 1.8L four cylinder engine from Mitsubishi with manual five speed transmission or optional four speed auto.
