1995 Chevrolet Cavalier Test Drive
It was almost enough to stop the presses, and halt the mail delivery. The venerable Cavalier line of front drive economy cars was totally revamped, the first major platform upgrade since its 1982 debut. To improve both interior room and maneuverability, the engineers widened the Cavaliers track and lengthened its wheelbase, but shortened overall length. Coupe, sedan, and convertible body-styles were offered, with a 2.2 liter four as the base powerplant and a potent 2.3 liter 150hp Quad 4 optional. The former V-6 engine and the wagon body-style were long gone.
