1998 Chevrolet Corvette Test Drive – Car of the Year

After the triumphant 1997 release of the fifth generation version, the Corvette team spent much of the off season alternately basking in the afterglow and slapping each other with high fives. Updates for 1998 were a few new color choices, new optional magnesium wheels, an air filter life monitor, and most significant, the arrival of a convertible model. A ground up topless design gave the convertible flowing lines and easy manual top operation. In all other respects, the 98′ Corvette was the same beautifully balance, completely modern super car everyone loved as before.
