1998 Nissan Frontier Test Drive
Not only did Nissan Revitalize its compact pickup, it finally gave it an actual name: Frontier. The new truck had strong, contemporary lines and advanced Nissan’s pickup technology on many fronts. The Frontier had a fresh new interior outfitted with dual airbags (the passenger-side bag was defeatable for kid-carrying). Engineered to deliver a car-like driving experience without degrading toughness and utility, the Frontier was offered with an evolution of its previous engine, a 2.4-liter/143-horsepower inline four, coupled with rear and four-wheel drive.
