1998 Top Speed Test Drive – Viva Velocity

Motor Trend, once again assembled a sampler of some of the most desirable exotic cars available in America.  The mix ranged from the comparatively affordable and ubiquitous $39k Chevrolet Corvette (think of it as the real-world control sample in the group) all the way up to the rare and very dear $138k Ferrari 355 F1.  They even threw in a wild card, the Ford Cobra powered Panoz AIV Roadster, poised to pounce on the next sunny afternoon that came along.
With vehicles as dissimilar and disparate in price as these, picking a winner must have been a futile effort.  The perspective was entirely different depending on your personal needs and the height of mountain oaf cash you stand on.

I like both MotorWeek and Motor Trend/Car and Driver, but there’s just something about the way Jim Scoutten narrates a story!
