1999 Honda Hybrid VV Concept Car

1999-honda-VV1 Honda unveiled the VV concept in Detroit for the 1999 NAIAS, a prototype gasoline electric hybrid that soon saw production as the original Honda Insight. With its plastic and aluminum body and lightweight alloy suspension, this front driver weighed a scant 2000 pounds. Power came from a 1.0 liter/3 cylinder VTEC gasoline engine paired with Honda’s integrated Motor Assist system, which consists of an integral electric motor/generator unit with battery pack. This combo supposedly netted 70 plus MPG’s on the EPA’s combined city/highway cycle and let it meat California’s ULEV requirement.

This body style reminds me so much of my old 1988 CRX. Look at a picture of a CRX, and then this one and you can see that they got the design from the CRX.
