1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Test Drive

New for 1999, the luxurious Grand Cherokee made advances in performance and creative comforts while retaining all of its impressive off roading abilities. Buff new body work and a larger, more elegant interior were just the starting point. The Grand Cherokee had a wider track, a lower step in height and higher seating position. Reworked suspension combined with a new Quadra Drive 4 wheel drive system to improve handling on road and off. A 4.0 liter 195 horsepower OHV inline 6 was the standard engine. The step up was a new 4.7 liter 235 horsepower SOHC PowerTech V8 that ran 0-60 MPH in 7.3 seconds.
