1999 Mitsubishi Galant Test Drive

Looking like a chip off the Diamante block, the brand new Galant sedan accelerated into 1999 with the power of a new up level v6 engine. Right on top of the class leaders in terms of peak output, the 195 horsepower 3 liter v6 gave the Galant the punch it needed to go head to head with the Honda Accord v6 and Camry v6. Lower line DE and ES Galant came with a 2.4 liter 145 horsepower SOHC inline that’s no slouch either. A bit bigger inside and out then its predecessor, the Galant offered more practical comfort than ever, and stacked up well against Camry and Accord in terms of interior space. Anti-lock brakes and side airbags were both offered as options, the GTZ touted sports sedan capability.
