1999 Saab 9-3 Convertible Test Drive

Not wanting to be caught napping, Saab got cracking and unveiled its 1999 line early in 1998. During calendar 1999, only small running changes were planned. With extensive refinement and reengineering totaling more than 1000 technical improvements, Saab’s previous entry-level car, the 900, metamorphosed into the 9-3, which was available in two and four door hatchback body styles, & a four-passenger convertible with a power operated top. All shared the same smooth, counterbalanced 2 liter 185 horsepower turbocharged inline-four coupled with a standard 5 speed manual transmission or optional 4-speed automatic driving the front wheels.
