2000 Chevrolet Corvette Lingenfelter Stage II Test Drive
Lingenfelter take a ‘stock’ Corvette Z06, already a very fast car, and turn it into a 200mph hypercar. The 5.7L blueprinted engine is heavily modified with uprated cams, crank, pistons and exhaust plus water injection and an all important boost controller. Suspension is standard Z06 (already up to the job) but brakes are beefed up with 14 inch vented discs.
A power to weight ratio of over 400bhp/ton makes for rapid acceleration, with the benchmark standing 1/4 mile despatched in just 12 seconds on the way to a 200mph maximum speed.
