2002 Cadillac Escalade Test Drive
All new for 2002 after skipping a year in 2001, the Escalade got a fresh new look, wearing the same edgy styling all new Cadillacs eventually donned. A 2WD model for sunny climate folks got a 285 hp Vortec 5300 V8, while AWD versions sported a Vortec 6000 V8 with a class leading 345hp rating, both on regular unleaded fuel. Interior amenities included Nuance Leather and Zebrano wood trim, 11-speaker Bose Acoustimass audio with six-disc CD changer, OnStar, and third row seating. Standard StabiliTrak stability control and Ultrasonic Parking Assist kept the big Caddy on track.
