2002 Saleen S7 Test Drive
Powered by a mid-engine 7.0 V8 that fed 550hp to the rear wheels, the Saleen S7 was truly an American supercar. A six-speed transaxle sat out back, and the chassis design mixed traditional tube frame construction with aluminum honey-comb reinforecments and carbon-fiber bodywork. Massive 15-in front and 14-in rear Brembo brakes provided stopping power. Tires were equally massive 19-in Pirelli P-Zeroes. Amenities included power locks and windows, fitted luggage, and air conditioning.
