2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT Turbo Test Drive
PT went Cruiser to bruiser for 2003 with he much anticipated turbocharger option for the 2.4.L engine, raising power from 150 to a rousing 215 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque, with 90 percent of the torque available down at 2300 rpm. A heavy-duty getrag 5-spd manual was standard on the PT turbo, while a four speed automatic with autostick was optional. Four wheel discs, 17-in wheels, large diameter exhaust, and body color bumpers tag the Turbo’s exterior; interiors were made over, too.
