2003 Honda Element Test Drive
Honda’s newest SUV shared a common platform and powertrain with the CRV but dramatically departed from that point to curry maximum favor with young, active buyers. Dubbed by Honda as a kind of “mobile” dorm room/base camp,” the Element’s open architecture eliminated the door pillar and added a sliding roof panel and foldaway seats to maximize reconfigurability regardless of payload. An easy care interior allowed for internet access, MP3 capability, and satellite radio in addition to its basic audio package and optional DVD-based navigation system.
