Its pretty fun to see how one manufacturer touts its product against another. Especially an established vehicle, in this case Ford borrowed a Mazda product, and is explaining to sales reps how GM’s upcoming new small truck is inferior. Some interesting features they ballyhooed were the vent windows, exterior drip rails, and exterior bed mounted tie downs. All stylish if you ask me! More promotion included standard chrome bumpers, white wall tires, and power brakes. All standard on Courier, optional on S-10! These training vids are amusing for sure.
We used to have a slew of small trucks to choose from. They were big sellers. Not anymore.
the reason why we stopped buying small pickups is because of the chicken tax on light trucks, and many of these small pickups aren’t built in the states and today’s full size trucks can be as efficient and easy to drive as smaller ones and they haul more and look better
I strongly agree! Demand for small trucks began to fall off between 2005 and 2010. The Dodge Dakota and Ford Ranger dropped out of the competition in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
You might be right in a way, however with today’s fuel prizes going up all the time, the large pick-up’s are very expensive to run and maneuver in tight spots. All I need is a small pick-up for around the house, yard waste, rubbish, etc. I wish we still had at least an option to buy one, and by small I mean no larger than the Ford Courier. I always liked their looks too. It’s all relative. Only north Americans drive large and fuel guzzling vehicles compare to the rest of the world. Why?

Agree with what you wrote Andrew. Prefer a small regular cab truck than an extended cab or four door truck.
