1983 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency Promo

Few changes attended the full size Oldsmobile. For 83 the Regency sedan continued as one of three senior Ninety eight models priced in the $12-$13k range. Ninety-Eight Sales held steady, and Oldsmobile’s overall sales remained strong obtaining number two in the race with 916,593 behind their coroporate cousin Chevrolet.

  4. Stacey L. Brown says:

I have owned the following Oldsmobiles.
    1962 Ninety Eight,
    1962 Starfire Convertible,
    1962 88,
    1967 Cutlass S,
    1978 Delta 88,
    1982 Delta 88,
    1983 Ninety Eight Regency,
    1984 Delta 88 Royale.

I learned to drive in a 1968 Cutlass and helped my son rebuild a 1969 Cutlass.

Every single one has been a great car to drive and very reliable. I miss my 1962 Starfire and the 1983 Ninety Eight the most.

I have also owned a number of Oldsmobiles, here’s my list in order:

1972 Cutlass Supreme, my Mom’s hand me down, learned to drive on this one
    1968 98 convertible
1981 88 Royale diesel – car was stolen in Cleveland, OH
1982 98 diesel – the best car I’ve ever owned
    1987 98 Grande
    1992 98
    1997 88 LS
1975 88 Royale convertible which we still have, original and like new with only 32k on the clock.

My parents bought their 1st Olds in 1946 and their last was a 1995 98, in 1998 they bought a LeSabre and drove Buicks from then on.

I, too, miss Oldsmobile, they were all great cars and I’d be driving a new Olds today if they were still made.
