There was no mirror on the driver’s side o f the 300ZX. If you appreciate subtlety, the implication was clear; this was a drivers car. If you were more concerned about the view in the vanity mirror than the view through the windshield, you were probably happier driving something else.
For 1990, Nissan polished its most illustrious nameplate to its former high sheen. Pure and simple, this was the most competent sporting piece ever to roll through the company’s doors. Nissan set its sights on several world class competitors, particularly Porsche’s 944 and Chevrolet’s Corvette – and sent the new 300 zinging straight for the bull’s eye.
