01995 Jeep Cherokee Test Drive
Although its basic design dated back to 1984, the Jeep Cherokee remained a strong player: starting at about $14,000 for a base 4×2 two-door. Four-door and 4×4 versions remained on the docket, with up level Sport and Country trim packages available. Hedonistic luxury was just a few options away, allowing you to bask in the splendor of leather seats, deep tint windows, and a Premium Accusound stereo. A special off-road suspension package, skid plates, and Trac-lock differential let you play Baja racer to your heart’s content, while the optional 4.0-liter/190-horsepower inline-six delivered near V-8 levels of grunt. A drive-side airbag and relining front bucket seats were new for 1995.
