With its daring oval headlights, the new for 1996 E-Class broke with traditional MB styling. Motor Trend was so impressed they named it their ‘Import car of the year’ for 1996. After a year, the new E became comfortably familiar. It rolled down the road with characteristic Mercedes-Benz grace: stable silent and satisfying. The interior treated five to elegant ambiance, with no fewer than four air-bags (pretty big deal for the 90s!).
