01999 Plymouth Prowler Test Drive
More than a few street rod lovers liked the prowlers looks, but wished for more muscle under the hood than the standard 3.5 liter 214 horsepower v6 could kick out. Plymouth responded by blessing and the Prowler with a version of the new all aluminum v6 that powered the Chrysler 300m and LHS. The new 3.5 liter 253 horsepower V 6 had 18 percent more horsepower and 15 percent more torque. It was coupled with an auto stick four speed automatic transmission. For 1999, the Prowler came in three new colors and incorporated a passenger side airbag disable switch.
