Forget everything you thought you knew about the Grand Am. For 1999 Pontiac drove a whole new car under that familiar name. With a new generation platform that was more rigid than its predecessors, the Grand Am was quieter and more solid on the road. It looked tougher in the SE too, with the wheels pushed farther out to the corners of the car to provide a wider stance.
