Spicing up off roading was the Cayenne, the Porsche of all-surface vehicles. Powered by a front mounted V8 engine, the four-door Cayenne had new Porsche Traction Management full-time AWD that could send up to 100 percent of torque to either end of the vehicle. Air suspension, optional on the S and standard on the Turbo, drops for loading and included low settings for road or could be raised to provide almost 11-in of ground clearance for off roading. For extreme off roading a special package offered extra skid plates, differential locks, and anti roll-bar disconnects.
