01979 Dodge D-Series Full-Size Truck Manufacturer Promo
The D-series Dodge conventional pickups coped with federal mileage compliance by adding radial tires to the 100 series and restricting it to 225cid 6-cylinder engines. And automatic transmissions weight lockup converters came in all trucks up to 6000 pound GVW. The D100 and D200 series would be offered with an optional 243cid 100 hp Mitsubishi diesel 4-cylinder engine, in 2-and 4-wheel drive. All base model cabs were fully trimmed. Dodges would be sold in 100, 150, 200, 300 and 400 GVW series in both drive modes to give off-roaders an extremely wide choice. All models were available with air conditioning, regardless of engine choice (base 225cid six, 318, 360, and 440cid V-8sd and 243cid diesel). All models had catalytic converters and built-in electronic diagnosis plug-in connectors for electrical system servicing. Tip-out side windows were optional on Club Cab models, along with A/C, all Chrysler line radio options, power steering and power brakes. There were several paint and tape stripe package options, and the Adult Toys of 1978 – the sports specialty truck options like the Warlock, Spirit II and Macho packages continued with slight changes.
