1979 Dodge Diplomat Manufacturer Promo
Except for a different grille, Dodge Diplomats carried on as before, in three body styles and three trim levels: base, Salon, and Medallion. Station wagons came only in Salon form, related to the Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country. Diplomat Medallion sedans had a padded vinyl roof. A redesigned landau vinyl roof with rectangular opera windows could be installed on a Diplomat Medallion coupe.
Interesting how the woman announcer gets a bit lost when describing the transverse torsion bar front suspension at 5:50. The male announcer has to take over to explain the benefits. At the time folks wouldn’t think twice about it. It stands out as demeaning now.
This 1979 am/fm radio look like in 1980’s!
I drove a ’79 medallion sedan, from ’87 to ’93…The 225 slant six was bullet-proof, but I had constant carburetor problems – hard starting, rough idle…radiator had to be cleaned and rodded out…overall poor build quality

I replaced it with an ’89 Ford tempo – better handling, ride quality and acceleration…also better build quality
