Oldsmobile’s compact Omega switched to GM’s new front-drive X-body design for 1980. Like Buick’s Skylark, it listed two- and four-door notchbacks. Compared to the 1979 models it replaced, the X-body Omega was six inches shorter in wheelbase and a full 750 pounds lighter.
