As we know the Chevrolet Corvette received its 3rd redo in 1983, as a 1984. Retaining front engine rear wheel drive, but with a transition away from swoop curves to tautly developed surfaces. The increased wedge, lower belt-line and larger greenhouse gave a more contemporary exterior and enhanced the feeling of interior roominess. Gossip circulated it would be powered by a turbo V-6, or small V-8. The speculations from a blurb in 1981, and others obviously ran rampant for the icon that had essentially been in the market for over 15 years.
