1981 Renault 18i Sport Wagon Test Drive
The 18i was introduced to the U.S. market under a joint agreement between Renault and American Motors. This front-wheel-drive was available in two body styles: a four-door sedan and a five-door wagon. Both were powered by a 1.6-liter fuel-injected hemi-head SOHC four with a four- or a five-speed manual transmission, or an automatic. Options included air conditioning, full leather bio-form front bucket seats, tilt steering wheel, remote-controlled side mirrors, and AM/FM stereo sound equipment.
