A revival of interest in ragtops was sparked by Chrysler’s 1982 decision to re-enter the market with open-bodied versions of its K-car modified by Cars & Concepts Company. The LeBaron was named after the famous coach building firm. For a few extra dollars, the Mark Cross edition was available with leather trim and air conditioning. Chrysler sold 3,045 LeBarons at $11,698 and 9,780 of the Mark Cross models priced at $13,998.
