1983 AMC Eagle Dealer Sales Promo

In 1980 American Motors launched their new range of Eagle 4X4 sedans, coupes, and station wagons with the viscous-coupling limited slip central differential, also used in the Ferguson equipped Jenson FF 4X4. Although the Eagles had off road ability, the company promoted them more as ultra-safe vehicles for road use, particularly in snow. They were made until 1987, many more wagons than sedans being built.

One Response to 1983 AMC Eagle Dealer Sales Promo

  1. Jude says:

Actually, about 2,500 Eagle wagons were made for the ’88 model year, as part of the new Jeep-Eagle Division of Chrysler. The last AMC Eagle left the line on 12/17/87. Sedans were dropped for ’88, and were usually outsold by the wagons 5 or 10 to 1.

2-door Eagle sedans were made from ’80-82, as were 2-door Concord sedans.

The Eagle SX/4 ran from 1981-83, with the Gremlin-bodied Eagle Kammback running from ’81-82, along with its Spirit sedan 2wd companion. Only about 6,100 Kammbacks were made and sold in those two years.

About 120,000 Eagle wagons were sold between ’80 and ’88.

I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m a huge AMC fan. Love to see this kind of footage.

    I’m partial
