For 1983, four lines, L, GL, GLX, and a new GT. Three engines, 1.6 base (70hp), 1.6 HO (80hp), and the new 1.6 EFI multi port fuel injection and tuned exhaust on the EFI engine, which was standard on the GT, was also optional on all models of Escort. GT package included new 5-speed manual overdrive transaxle, Michelin TRX tires and suspension, font and rear spoilers, fog lamps blackout exterior trim with dark taillight lenses, new design reclining bucket seats, sporting exhaust system and matching interior. HO engine available in all models with both wide and close ratios four and five speed manual and automatic. All interiors were upgraded. Three suspension levels, three tire options.

Corolla Sport models had coupe and three-door hatchback models, while keeping a rear-drive platform until 1987.
That actress looks familiar. Anyone know who she might be? She reminds me vaguely of Mary Frann, who played “Joanna” (the wife) on “Newhart”.
