81983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Promo Video
Oldsmobile added the front-drive Cutlass Ciera to its line as its version of GM’s new A-body family for 1982. The $9,599 Brougham four door accompanied, rather than replaced the rear drive Cutlass, which outsold it 281,451 t 101,320.
My parents had one of these when I was a kid. I think theirs was a ’85 model
My grandparents (Mom’s folks) had a 1985 model. My father’s parents had a 1986 model. Each car had a beige exterior, and likely a tan color interior.
These were surprisingly decent cars. A wonderful balance of efficiency and size. Had a hand-me-down Buick Century version for a few years. Though only having a large 4 cylinder under the hood, it had respectable get up and go. If only it had had the handling tweaks of the the Pontiac 6000 STE though (Sigh). Bashed the heck out of that car in the remote deserts of Arizona, but it kept coming back for more. Impressed.
i think the main critisism of the A-body was how derivative of one another they appeared. Oh well, i grew up in and learned to drive in a celebrity. Solid car for the day!
I was brought home from the hospital in a 1986 Olds Cutlass Cruiser wagon. To this day, my mom says “nothing drives like an Oldsmobile”…. (she now drives a BMW 6-series convertible, but in her mind, the Olds drove better!)
quite the progression there momma!
AWESOME LUXURY FROM THE 80S AND EARLY 90S ERA OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS CIERA
I had an 83 in 92 all the way till 2000. The one good thing about this car was that it showed me how to work on cars. Dam thing always had things that needed repair. Now I miss it. It was my first car. I still have my second car now.
